The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said on Sunday that Iran did not want conflict with Israel to extend to its neighbouring nations unless forced. He added that Iran’s response was in self-defence and would halt its response if foreign aggression ended.

Israeli Fighter Jets Bombard Tehran
Israeli fighter jets attacked and bombarded Iran’s capital city, Tehran. Israeli fighter jets have hit fuel reservoirs, due to which the sky was covered with thick black smoke as oil depots burned. In retaliation, Iran has hit Israel with ballistic missiles and drones.
Iran Fires Back with Missiles in Retaliation
However, Iran didn’t wait long to respond. According to an Israeli military official, Iran fired 200 ballistic missiles and drones into Israeli territory. Some of these missiles went through the Israeli defence systems.
The town of Bat Yam, near Tel Aviv, was the worst hit. A large apartment building was destroyed in Bat Yam. Six people died, and 180 were wounded as a result of this.

Lives Lost in Israel
At least 13 people have died in Israel since Friday. The Iranian attack mostly killed civilians. The missile attack in Bat Yam was the deadliest single strike by Iran.
Four women died when their three-story building was destroyed in northern Israel. Rescue teams are on the lookout for several missing people under the rubble.

Iran’s UN representative said 78 people died in the first Israeli attacks, while more than 320 people were wounded. Iran claimed that 20 out of the 78 dead were children.
The actual number of deaths might be higher, and neither has Iran updated its numbers since the attacks began.

Israel says it hit Iran’s nuclear program sites. As per Israel, they attacked:

Israeli Fighter Jets struck more than 400 targets across Iran, including 40 sites just in Tehran alone.

As per Iran, it aimed its missiles at:
- Haifa’s big oil refinery,
- Civilian neighbourhoods,
- Military bases across northern Israel, and
- Tel Aviv area buildings.
Iran had used its most powerful missiles in this attack on Israel. Each missile carried up to 2,000 pounds of explosives along with it.
Reason For The Iran-Israel War
The Iran-Israel war did not start all of a sudden. There has been a decade-long enmity between Iran and Israel. But this is the first time they have attacked each other directly, and the attacks have been hard.
Israel targeted Iran’s nuclear program and killed top Iranian military leaders first on Friday, and then Iran fired back with hundreds of missiles and drones.

Trump Warned Iran
The US President Donald Trump posted a strong warning on social media and said that America had nothing to do with the Israeli attacks. He warned Iran not to attack US targets.
Trump wrote on Social Media, “If we are attacked, the full strength of the US military will come down on you.” He also said a peace deal between Iran and Israel could still happen.
Help Offered By European Countries
Germany, France, and Britain wanted to help stop the fight. They have offered to hold talks with Iran about its nuclear program immediately.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said, “We hope Iran will accept our offer for immediate talks.”
Nuclear Talks Cancelled
Iran was scheduled to talk with the US about its nuclear program on Sunday in Oman, but they cancelled the talks because of Israeli attacks.
The Iranian Foreign Minister said, “We can’t talk peace while our people are being bombed.”
More Attacks Expected In The Coming Days
Both Iran and Israel say that this fighting will continue. Iran’s military warned and said, more fierce and broader attacks would be conducted if Israel kept striking.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said what Iran has seen so far is nothing compared to what could come next.
